Cavan International Hen Weekend! – It’s Party Time!

This is your chance to win a superb wedding reception & dream honeymoon! Have a hen party with a difference…come to Cavan for the weekend and take part in our super competition!

In conjunction with Cavan Summer festival win points for our Mad Hatter’s Fancy dress, get bitten by the Love Bug Treasure Hunt, be swept away with Saturday Night Fever and complete some (easy) challenges..

The Cavan International Hen Weekend & Summer Festival will commence on Friday June 18 2010.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Friday 18th

• 2pm – Registration starts in the Imperial Bar, Cavan.
• 7pm  – Hens champagne reception… each hen party will be treated to a champagne reception to get the weekend started!
• 8pm – Hens and their girlfriends will be invited to take part in the Mad Hatters Fancy Dress party in Cavan town on Friday night. The party starts with an amazing street pageant through the town complete with jugglers, stilt walkers, and fire-eaters! Don your cleverest costume and maddest hat to win some easy points!!!
• 10pm til late – you can party the night away with the rest of Cavan town as the Summer Festival kicks off in style with a full samba concert on the market square and music throughout the town ….

Saturday 19th

• 2pm Lots of points up for grabs in this hilarious treasure hunt…find the love bugs scattered around the town and you’re on the scent of big prizes!!!!
• 9pm  Saturday night fever! Strut your stuff with a  John Travola lookalike who will visit and dance his way into your party! Points for joining John on the dance floor!

Sunday 20th

• 3pm - all parties will congregate in the Market Square in Cavan town where a short list of candidates for the top prize will be named.  These candidates will be invited to take part in one more (very easy!) challenge and the winner of that challenge will win the top prize of a wedding reception in the Hotel Kilmore Cavan and a fantastic honeymoon.

FAQ

Do I have to be getting married?

Yes, each party needs to have one designated ‘hen’ and she must be planning to get married.  The ‘hen’ is the person who could scoop the top prize of a wedding reception and honeymoon.  The rest of you are there to support here and also to have the party of a lifetime!!

How many friends can I bring?

Bring as many as you like! But remember to book accommodation in plenty of time.

How much does it cost?

It costs €50 to register for each hen party.  This covers administration and set-up costs. All other costs will be the responsibility of the parties themselves. Any promotion in connection with this prize if complimentary will be deemed so at a later date.

How will the winner be selected?

The winner will be selected by a point system which the hen and her mates will try to win during the course of the weekend. The party with the most points on the Sunday will win the prize of the reception and the honeymoon. There may be other prizes for runners-up.

1)      Points will be allocated for participation in challenges throughout the weekend for eg, fancy dress will be awarded points as will the dance routine with ‘John Travolta’.

2)        Anonymous judges who will visit each venue hosting the hen parties will also allocate points to the hens using strict criteria provided by the Festival Committee.  This isn’t a beauty competition or a talent contest, it’s a fun weekend with an amazing prize up for grabs so judges will be looking for willingness to participate in events and the effort put into each event. Extra points for team spirit!

And now for a few Ground rules….!

There is no cash alternative to the prize of the wedding reception and honeymoon.

The prize can be yours by winning points during the festival on the weekend of 18/19 and 20th of June 2010. These points are allocated for festival participation, fancy dress, treasure hunt bugs and the challenges etc.   A team of judges will allocate and collate the points throughout the weekend.   The judges’ decision is final.
